Old Coating Removal
Peeling epoxy, flaking paint or a failed DIY kit removed down to clean concrete, so the new floor starts from a solid foundation.
The details, in plain English.
A new coating cannot outlast what is underneath it. If the old floor is peeling, bubbling or loose, it has to come off. We use heavy diamond grinding, scraping and, for thick films, shot blasting to remove failed epoxy, paint, sealers and mastics.
We also test sound old coatings. If one is thoroughly bonded and clean, we can sometimes abrade and recoat; if not, it comes up. We tell you which path is honest before we quote.

Questions, answered
Can you put a new coating over my old epoxy?
Only if the old floor is fully bonded and can be abraded. If any part is lifting, it must come off.
Does removal take longer?
Yes. Heavy films can add several hours or a day, and we include it in the written estimate.
